FANTASIA

 Fantasia Festival (Arabic: الفانتازيا‎) , is the Magreb festival of horsemanship, a synchronized performance of charging with horses in a group and simultaneously firing guns in one single shot.

This festival is currently suspended because of the pandemic and lack of tourism. However it inspired me to create this magazine issue. We travelled to Agadir, Marrakesh, Tafraoute, Casablanca and Taroudant and also visit the Magrebi community areas (18th, 19th, 20th arrondissement) in Paris. In each area I took many scans and also 360 footage and photographs.

And with this magazine edition, I decided to build worlds in Unity (not multiplayer) collaging together scans and 3D drawings of my journey with main multiplayer area using Mozilla Hubs. I wanted to create pieces of immersive art to capture a feeling of buzzing areas of North African particularly diaspora. I wanted to reduce the words used to see if I could recreate the feeling of the Berber culture.
